WELCOME, NC (August 2, 2022) – Richard Childress Racing today announced that the NASCAR Xfinity Series is a driver Austin Hill He will make his NASCAR Cup Series debut this weekend on the Michigan International Speedway. Hill will drive the 33rd Chevrolet with initial sponsorship from Bennett Transportation and Logistics. Hill’s first-ever trophy series start will support longtime RCR partners Alsco Uniforms, United Rentals, Global Industrial and Realtree on his Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
“As a kid growing up in the sport, having the chance to run a NASCAR Cup Series car is the ultimate dream, especially with a team like Richard Childress Racing who has so much history and success,” said Hill, who is currently a full-time competitor in the Xfinity Series for RCR. It’s going to be an educational weekend for sure, but I’ve had success at the Michigan International MotoGP in the past and can’t wait to take wide, sweeping corners on the track in the Cup Series NASCAR from Chevrolet.
Hill, 28, won the NASCAR Truck Series race at MIS in 2019. The 2022 Xfinity Series contender Sunoco Rookie of the Year will pull double duty in Michigan, competing in both the Xfinity Series and Cup Series races. In the Xfinity Series competition, Hill has two wins so far this season (Daytona International Speedway, Atlanta Motor Speedway 2) as well as eight Top Five, 12 Top 10 and 223 laps.

Prior to his full season in the Xfinity Series, Hill spent four full-time seasons in the Truck Series, racking up eight wins, 27 best 5 games, and 54 top-10 positions. Hill also won the 2020 Truck Series regular season championship.
The Bennett Group of Companies, a McDonough, Georgia-based company, will be the primary partner in the 33rd Chevrolet for the first time in the Hill Cup series. Bennett made his NASCAR debut with Hill and Team Xfinity #21 at the season opener at Daytona International Speedway and raced with RCR in #3 Chevrolet and driver Austin Dillon in the Cup Series race at the Circuit of the Americas earlier this season.
